Chromecast – overview:
The Chromecast is Google’s response to the media streaming competitors like Apple TV, Amazon fire stick and Roku. After a failed attempt with the Nexus player, Google took a step up in its game by releasing the Chromecast, a very competitively priced device for media content consumption and a device that makes your regular TV a smart TV. The device is built with a great form-factor and is so small that you can actually put it in your pocket and take it wherever you travel.
The Chromecast has been released in 3 versions and is backed up by Google’s ecosystem and easily communicates with all the smart devices at your house. It is a cheap and easy way to stream content from your mobile to the television. The Chromecast gives the user access to various premium streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and Google’s own streaming service Google Play. It also allows you to cast your screen from the chrome browser on to the television. Further, the Chromecast gives it’s competition a run for their money. You can interface the form factor with any TV with an HDMI port as it is small.
Chromecast – variations:
There are two variations of the Chromecast device namely Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra. You can buy Chromecast for 35 USD and The Chromecast Ultra for 70 USD. The difference being that the Chromecast ultra serves content at 4K resolution and the Chromecast only serves content at 1080p resolution. The Chromecast box comes with a power adapter, USB- cable, an HDMI extender cable and some documentation with regard to setting up the Chromecast.
The Chromecast is really easy to set up, connect the device to a power supply and connect the device to the television in the HDMI port. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the device to a WiFi connection, with that you’re good to go. There is also another variant of the Chromecast called the Chromecast audio which is solely an audio streaming device which can be interfaced with any existing speaker system.

Setting up the FX Networks:
You can set up applications on the Chromecast via Google App Store. To begin the setup process, simply connect your Google account to sync your Chromecast and access Google app store on Chromecast. Search for FX Now app on the Google app store and proceed to download the application from the app store. To start using the FX app, navigate to the FX app icon on the home screen of the Chromecast interface. Once initiated, you will then have to wait for your account specific content to load on screen. Enjoy the content on a large screen.
